Discussion:
DC Cable splitter?

Since I have (after 5 years) finished work on my Linux/Mame cabinet I
have decided my next project will be a DC->VGA cabinet using an old 17"
monitor.

I will be eventually getting a DC X-Arcade as the control panel but for
the time being I am using a SmartJoy2 PSX->DC converter with an ASCII
fightstick.

The problem is that certain games will not boot without a VMU in slot 1.
Ikaruga is one of them, it boots, goes past the first screen then shows
a page of Japanese writing and reboots. Put a pad with a VMU in slot 1
and it is all fine.

So, has anyone come across a controller cable splitter which will allow
a DC+VMU to plug in one side and an A.N.Other pad in the other?

Ta

PS - anyone got a copy of the Utopia disk with VGA patch?

Try this instead of your SmartJoy thingie? It lets you use a PS controller on
the DC, but also has a VMU connector.

Cheers - I may get one of those and an X-Arcade with PSX adapter to give
me some upgrade options in the future.

I found a Utopia disk as well thanks.

Oh, and I have a Utopia disc, but how do I know if it has the VGA patch?

Why not just use an offical DC Arcade Stick? They are lovely and they
have a VMU slot too.

With one of these :

I can have a neat 2-player unit in the cabinet.
